At River Cafè our obsession is premium produce, hand selected from local producers who share our philosophy. Organic and free–range where ever possible, we cook with passion for your pleasure. We take great seasonal local food, don’t complicate or destroy the flavour, we start with and celebrate the perfection of simplicity. It seems simple to us because that is the heritage of head chef Sarah Whetstone who might special a hand–made ravioli with a treviso and roasted organic garlic sauce, a smattering of currants, some crunchy crumbs done in a great EV olive oil and handful of chopped soil grown parsley. Get the picture? We are not messing with the ingredients, we are show casing them!
South Australia is lucky enough to have some of Australia’s best seafood and meat producers and our kitchen knows them all. We know the pedigree of our beef, pork and lamb and insist that our fish comes fresh, fished locally with a maximum of 24 hours from ocean to table. We buy from producers who adhere to traditional farming and support local regional produce wherever possible. Our menu is an ever changing kaleidoscope of the best produce we are able to source.
